Several Haitian soccer players have disappeared in Florida

Several players from the Haitian soccer team went missing in the Special Olympics in Florida.

Police say they are now actively looking for people.

– We have a dialogue with Walt Disney World, they say in a statement.

From June 5 to 12, competitions were held at the Special Olympics in Orlando at Florida. But the tournament is now shaken by the fact that six people, many of them players, on the Haitian soccer team have disappeared without a trace.

Police say they left their luggage in hotel rooms and were last seen on the afternoon of June 6 when they handed over the room keys.

It will be about Oriol Jean, 18, Anderson Petit Freire, 18, Peter Mijanovic-Berlus, 19, Nicholson Fontelius, 20, Stephenson Jacquet, 24, and Anthion Joseph Mithun, 32.

5,500 active participants in Special Olympics

The local authorities have not given any reason why the health and safety of any individual is at risk. But to increase the scope and efficiency of the search, they are reported as missing persons,” Special Olympics wrote in a statement.

The police are now actively searching to find them all.

We have a dialogue with Walt Disney World, Special Olympics, and federal partners. “At the moment, we believe this is an isolated incident and no crime is suspected,” the police said in a statement.

About 5,500 active participants are participating in the Special Olympics in Orlando and the tournament is expected to attract about 120,000 spectators.

Anderson Petit Farrer wrote last week on social media that he is excited to be in the Special Olympics and that it would be a great honor to be part of the team.
