There are no regulations preventing SHL players from actually negotiating with new clubs before next season.
why?
It can be tricky in terms of labor law, says Johann Hemlin, SHL’s director of sports.
that Lulia player Isaac Bernströmwith an expired contract, has signed a contract with HV71 Coming to next season, revealed by Sportbladet, has already stirred up emotions.
But did the player break any rules?
number.
– It’s like a normal job market. If you have a fixed-term employment contract in a newspaper and even if it has not expired, you have the right to plan for your future as a journalist. Then there could be a difference between having a dialogue and writing a contract, as with SHL sporting director Johann Hemlin as an example for Sportbladet.
Is there a regular difference between dialogue and contract writing?
– number.
open to change
Hemlin says the issue has been discussed, though.
– But what came out next is that it can be tricky in terms of labor law.
In another sport, football, there is a regulation that means a player may not sign a contract for the next season with a new club until six months remain on the current contract.
They may be subject to a special set of regulations linked to FIFA or UEFA. There is no such thing within the IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation).
Have clubs or players contact us and want to make a change?
– number. It is accepted that this is what the market looks like. But if it could be regulated, I don’t think anyone would put an end to that either.
