In Swedish ice hockey, anyone can go to any club at any time.
It is known that it is summer here when Swedish ice hockey fans (in nine cases out of ten supporters of hockey clubs) are crazy because a player who has just signed with a club and without playing a match at his new club has decided to switch to another club, higher in the league system .
Although it’s the same every year, this time we always surprise most people, now it’s happened again and everyone is grumbling about everything and everyone.
And if that’s the case, I also want to take the opportunity to whine a little.
There is an agreement between SHL and Hockeyallsvenskan which means that SHL clubs can recruit players from Hockeyallsvenskan between May 1 and July 1 of each year, in some cases for predetermined money but in some cases for no payment at all.
Agreement is totally useless to all parties (yes, actually) but since the NHL can do the same thing, picking the players they want from the SHL, it’s always possible to push the problem aside and you just keep quiet long enough, everyone forgets about the problem when the ice is shiny from September to April.

Swedish ice hockey is a poorly directed circus full of clowns, one dumber and more ridiculous than the other.
This laxity, which can be likened to some kind of contractually regulated bitch, spoils all involved, ice hockey shames itself, and every time that happens, I think it can affect the long-term interest and commitment around ice hockey in Sweden.
Östman’s case is bad for SHL and Johan Hemlin, bad for the juniors in the Hockeyallsvenskan office, bad for Leksand and Kalle Östman and all the fans, and of course worse for Västerås who never got a buck and now stands more deserted with a black hole in the squad building.
I won’t go into various agreements here and there and review them, there are many of them and they have many, but I actually want to make one thing clear.
Those who have signed this agreement, which means that players and clubs can do something they feel, must first of all be ashamed, and then work together, correct the nonsense and write something new.
Do we want Swedish ice hockey where a player can change club twice a week?
Do we want Swedish ice hockey where loyalty and feeling for the club don’t mean a slap, where competition between clubs is exhausted every passing season and where the popular and backed ‘league model’ benefits only the best?
Do we want farmers’ unions and that the league that wrote the best television deal decides everything and where does a totally unfaithful, leaderless alliance stand with its hat on its hand and its watches?
It rotates completely uncontrolled
In the Kali Ostman case, one can of course also ask oneself what Kaley Ostman is for a snow lion.
Could he not soon appear as a player who will actually defend his choice of club, honor his contract and show respect to all involved and, above all, the fans?
We shouldn’t even talk about the loan carousel, it spins completely uncontrollably.
