But after 484 games in an HV shirt, Simon Önerud has yet to receive a new contract.
Simon had two difficult seasons with injury and then had surgery with a lengthy rehabilitation. I know how much Simon means to this league and the city, says Athletic Director Kent Norberg, which makes it very difficult to announce our decision not to continue next season.

This season there have been only six games in the SHL and Onerud says he understands the club’s decision.

Not only was Simon a good player for many years, he also wore the HV shirt with pride and was a good ambassador for the club. We would, of course, like to thank him very much for that. We spoke with Simon after the season and announced that we would like to see him in some role at the club once his playing career was over, he says.
HV71 looked like it had left the SHL for a long time, but the change of coach took its toll, and Jönköping’s team finally finished 11th in the table.
