Skellefteå has ten consecutive home final losses

SKELLEFTEÅ. Skellefteå has a shocking statistic of ten consecutive home final losses.

Bar Lindholm is the only player to have played in all 10 matches and also have six consecutive silver medals.

– If so, it is unacceptable, says the 31-year-old center from Kågedalen.

Skellefteå has not won a SC final at home since an 8-1 win over Färjestad on 19 April 2014.

There are four final sets and now a total of ten matches without a home win.

There are also three final series against ghost Växjö: 2–4 in matches in 2015, 0–4 in matches in 2018 and 1–3 in matches now.

In between, it was also 1-4 in matches against Frölunda in 2016 when captain Joel Lundqvist had to lift the trophy at Västerbotten.

You don’t want to jump to conclusions

What all 10 matches have in common is that Barr Lindholm was there the whole time.

– It’s ten games and too spread out for you to draw any major conclusions from. Matches and series matches are separate events. For my part, this is not something I think about and deal with. We like to play at home and we feel strong here. Maybe it doesn’t matter so much back and forth when there are two good teams with a lot of good players, says Bar Lindholm.

He never wins

This is three consecutive final losses, SM Bar Lindholm’s silver and strong disadvantages in the Final Four.

Add to that SM-silver in 2011 as well as J18-silver in 2008 and JVM-silver in 2011.

– I was never allowed to win, and it hurts me so much to get this title. I don’t want to look back, but only forward. Silver medals don’t matter much, I really want to be there and win, says Bar Lindholm.

You were not invited to a party

The sold out arena in Skellefteå was boiling for game two and four.

Monday night it was 0-1 and with a big party atmosphere on Saturday night it was 1-4.

– We have to win the next game, that’s all. We haven’t given up yet. We won last time in Växjö and have a good feeling going there again. The first half looked bad when you look at the stats, but we came out really well and had big parts of it. It really felt like we had something good going, Bar Lindholm says, and then there was a cold shower when we got two tubs against us.

Växjö now has three match points in the best of seven matches.

Skellefteå must win three in a row to get SM Gold.

The fifth match takes place in Växjö on a Monday evening.
