Uppsala. It has been expected to be a big name for the Allsvenskan team this season.
But during the start of the season, Jacob Ondrijka had to sit on the bench for three games in a row.
It’s always fun for people to believe in you, but it can also be too much sometimes, says the 19-year-old.
Jakob Ondrijka was successful during pre-season and led Elfsburg to the semi-finals of the Swedish Cup with three goals in five matches.
At Allsvenskan, he had to start the first four matches, but then was put on the bench after going out without goals.
But during his innings, the 19-year-old stood up to score a goal and an assist.
After three matches out of the starting lineup, Ondrejka is back again against Sirius.
It’s been good for me to go out and go down a little bit on everything. I think it was required. He’s been around me a lot during pre-season and at the start of the Allsvenskan so I think he’s worked for me. Jimmy (Thylen) and I had a good conversation about why he’s seated me. I totally get it, says the talent.

Expectations weren’t exactly easy on the 19-year-old.
It’s always fun when people believe in you, but it can also be too much sometimes. When people think you have to do everything all the time, it’s not possible. Ronaldo, Messi and Mbappe can do that. I’m not that player yet, but I hope to get there eventually. But clearly it was too much, he says and continues:
– Then it’s like they’re putting pressure on one of them to take it down again, so you have to have a balancing act in there. You just have to take it easy and don’t think about it too much, it will be fine in the end.
Do you feel it affected you on the field?
– She is not affected but it is clear that we are all human and you clearly think. Sometimes you go your way, sometimes you don’t. It can go fast. If I had scored two goals here today, I would probably be happy again. But I try to do it as best as possible, and then we’ll see where it takes me.
