A strange goal during the match between Faccio and Modo.
Through Modo’s three players, the ball found its way to 3-1.
“It’s absolutely crazy how this can happen,” says Modo’s coach Matthias Karlin on TV4 Play.
Modou unleashed sporadic shots against Adam Öhmann in the Vaxjo goal and they were eventually rewarded when they reduced the score to 1-2 early in the third period.
But soon after, the curtain came down on the home team.
Joel Pearson fired a shot from the blue line that hit David Bernhardt’s skate, passed to Riley Woods and also hit Pontus Nassin before finding its way into the goal in a bizarre arc.
“Ping pong all the time”
-We are the team that leads the match smiling big. There are shots on goal everywhere and then a 3-1 goal comes along, it’s absolutely crazy how that can happen. I don’t know how many players it took, but it was about playing ping-pong all the time, says Modo coach Matthias Karlin on TV4 Play.
Joel Pearson scored the goal, which came in the eighth minute of the third period.
– Then we fought properly for 45 minutes to score a goal and then comes what was not even a chance to score a goal. “I felt like the world was against us in some way,” Carlin says.
Sixth in a row
The win was also enough for Vaxjo who won the match 4-1, with Manuel Agrin scoring the final goal into an empty net.
The win was Växjö’s sixth in a row in the SHL and the team remains in second place in the league.
