Matthew Tkachuk was one of Calgary’s best players in the playoffs.
In the stands, he was strongly encouraged by his brother Brady – the rival captain of Ottawa Senators.
“It’s fun to see Matthew play,” he told ESPN.
For the first time in 31 years they meet Calgary Flames The Edmonton Oilers opponent in the playoffs of the ‘Battle of Alberta. The first quarter-final was a crazy set of goals that Flames won 9-6.
One of the Flames’ champs was Matthew Tkachuk who did a hat-trick and did so in front of his very celebrated brother Brady Tkachuk who sat in the stands.
Brady has seen several games, which may not be strange in itself, but he is also the captain of his rival Ottawa Senators, who failed to make the playoffs, which is now a snack in the NHL.
– I think when it’s okay with the family, especially when he’s wearing his brother’s shirt. He only supports his brother and I think Matthew will do the same with Brady, said former Flims striker Milan Lucic.
“Very strange”
However, many people on Twitter seem to have a different opinion.
“It’s weird that Brady Tkachuk is a Calgary Flames fan and makes his goals when he scores. When was the last time you saw an active NHL player cheering openly for another team?” one user writes as others praise Brady.
“Love him more and more, keep encouraging your brother,” one user wrote.
However, Brady appears to be quietly taking the resurrection.
It’s fun to see Matthew playing and the atmosphere here, he tells ESPN.
