Svenskan clubs united against chaos

Five big clubs in Allsvenskan have enough.

In a joint statement, the clubs called on the public to stop throwing things.

“This year the Allsvenskan team has seen an escalation, for example, in throwing objects, firecrackers and throwing firecrackers,” the clubs wrote in a press release.

AIK, Djurgården, Hammarby, IFK Gothenburg and Malmö issued a joint statement on Saturday about the development at the Allsvenskan Yards.

The clubs wrote that they find the development worrisome, and plead that throwing things should stop immediately.

“It has no place in our stadiums. We therefore appeal to our supporters to help us work to stop this negative development. It is something that, as before, we can do together. For the sake of Swedish football and Swedish fan culture,” the clubs wrote.

Security is threatened

The clubs believe that development is a direct threat to the Swedish supporter culture.

“Let us fear this and not let destructive behavior jeopardize what we have built.”

They believe safety is at risk for all involved.

Throwing a burning torch into a crowd risks serious consequences. Firecrackers louder than 150 decibels risk permanent damage to people in their vicinity. Objects signed on the field risk injury to players, managers, referees and officials. These disturbances expose the public and staff high risk and classified as violent crimes.”
