Sweden and Jan Andersson sailed to Iceland, Elias Andersson’s mother

Sweden looked set to end the January round with a loss to Iceland.

But Blågult turned the game around after a stunning free-kick goal and decision in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

Sweden won the first match of the January tour against Finland 2-0 after goals from Christopher Nieman and Joel Asuru.

Against Iceland, the national team captain selected an all-new eleven from the start. Then Jacob Widell Zetterström was the best player of the half with many great saves.

However, he had to drop a ball behind him. The Djurgård goalkeeper made a save across the crossbar and then the ball rebounded and caught Gustaf Lagerbielke’s arm. The referee blew and pointed to the penalty kick.

Odrejka top scorer

Sveinn Gudjohnsen’s penalty kick was saved by Widell Zetterström, but the Elfsborg player was able to take advantage of the rebound to give Iceland a 1-0 lead.

Janne Andersson made a lot of changes in the second half and went for the win. But it took until the 85th minute before the goal came. Elias Andersson accurately scored a free kick a few meters outside the penalty area and thus became the top scorer in his international debut.

In stoppage time, Sweden managed to decide the match. Lagerbielke reached high in the air from a corner kick, but it was saved by the goalkeeper.

On the comeback, however, Jacob Ondriecka stayed ahead and made it 2-1 to Sweden.

– very nice. Yesterday I already felt like I was going to score. Then Hákon (Valdimarsson) standing in goal makes the feeling even better. Now he can be a little cool, Odrejka says of his teammate, to C More and continues:
