Sweden missed the European Under-20 Championship final – fell in shock against Portugal

Sweden fell to the finish line in the semi-final against Portugal.

After a real thrill, the host nation’s top scorer Francisco Mota da Costa managed to secure the victory on penalty kicks.

Now Serbia is waiting in the fight for the bronze medal.

Sweden stepped in as the underdog in the semi-finals of the European Under-20 Championship when Portugal stood as the host nation for the competition. A large part of the suspension was King Francisco Mota da Costa who had already scored 42 goals in the tournament before the match.

Sweden resisted well at first and prevented Portugal from retreating to any major advance.

After a delicious Japanese game in the last second of the first half from Albert Manson, the home team was only two pieces ahead in the first half, 12-10.

Fell after crazy thriller

The second half will be full of excitement. The team kept pace with Portugal’s progress and did not develop. Then Sweden advanced, and a quarter of an hour remained until the end of the match, and the difference became the lead with two balls.

Oscar Savinger’s goal for Sweden became a hero after several great saves in the last minutes – including after he saved King Francisco Motta da Costa’s penalty just two minutes before play.

The Swedish players are depressed.

One minute before the end of the match, the match was a draw and Sweden went in attack. Casper Palmar got a chance to turn things around.

Portugal was attacked last and once again Sävinger made a good save just two seconds before play. However, the ruling was not affected, and booked him for diving. Portugal won the numbers 25-24.
