Sweden thrashed Slovakia in the JVM competition – a dream goal for the 14-year-old

Big victory in the JVM Quarterfinals

Sweden is ready for the JVM semi-finals after a 6-1 defeat against Slovakia.

But it was Slovakian super talent Nila Lubosanova, 14, who stole the headlines with a dream goal.

– Magical to see! Hockey candy, says SVT expert Maria Roth.

Sweden qualified for the semi-finals of the FIFA U-18 World Cup in Östersund after beating Slovakia 6-1 in the quarter-finals.

Stina Andersson opened the scoring and Hilda Svensson ended Sweden’s celebration with 12 minutes remaining.

“In the beginning, we may not have played our best game, but we grow and finish well,” says shooter Isabelle Laygonhelm 3-1 at SVT.

A 14-year-old’s dream

The biggest Slovak threat up front was 14-year-old striker Nila Lubosanova (b. 2008). Despite being the youngest player in the tournament, she leads the scoring and shooting league and halfway through the first period showed why.

Lobozanova converted the Swede’s goal before chipping the ball in a Zorro shot to make it 1–1.

– I’m sitting there laughing, and you’re going to be a part of this. He’s a great player,” says SVT expert Maria Roth.

Meet the United States in the semi-finals

Lobozanova plays every day in the Slovak First League for boys born 07/08 – where she has the best scoring average ever.

“The sense of play and technical skill is unbelievable in this girl,” says Roth.

As for Sweden, the United States, to whom it lost 6-3 in the group stage, is now waiting for the semi-finals, which will take place on Saturday at 16:00.
