This is how much it cost AIK to sack Henrik Jurelius.

According to information provided to Sportbladet, AIK buys the sporting director for around eight months’ wages, which amounts to at least SEK 600,000.

Yesterday, AIK announced that the club had sacked the sporting director Henrik Jurelius, who was appointed to the position in January 2020. Prior to that, he was the assistant sporting director and also worked as a coordinator at the club.

– We’ve looked at the structure of how we’ll work in the future and we may need to change tracks a bit. We need to introduce another competency that will be needed in the future, said CEO and Acting Sports Director Manuel Lindberg.

During his long time at the club, Aurelius has been involved in the signings of players such as John Guidetti and now he has also recently finished with coach Andreas Bernström, striker Omar Farag and midfielder Abdel Salam Magachy.

And when AIK decided to fire Henrik Jurelius, the club bought him out of his contract. According to several independent sources for Sportbladet, Jurelius had an eight-month notice period on his contract. He earned between 70,000 – 80,000 per month, which means that it costs at least half a million to buy it.

He may change if he finds a new job

In addition, social security contributions are added. If Jurelius finds a new job within the next few months, a settlement will be added and the amount won’t be nearly as great.
