The captain of the Swiss national team before the Sweden match in the European Championship

Sheffield / Stockholm. Not many sick players can start against Sweden.

Denmark-Swiss captain Nielsen sent positive and negative messages ahead of Wednesday’s match.

– I know we’ll start with eleven players but I don’t know how many we can replace to be honest, says Nielsen.

The Swiss situation ahead of Wednesday’s game against Sweden looks much brighter.

But national team captain Nielsen was unable to conduct any training due to a long string of players suffering stomach ailments after Switzerland’s match against Iceland.

The biggest joy today is letting players leave their rooms, Nielsen says at Tuesday’s press conference.

Not many people can train

Striker Miriam Tarsho and the rest of the team did not go to Sheffield, where the match is being held, but according to SportBladet information, the rest of the players are with.

– It wasn’t the best charge when we were apart. But Ramona Bachmann, the big Swiss star, says it’s something we can’t change and we’re still trying to prepare as best we can.

Of course it’s good for the team to be a team again, even if we keep our distance from each other. But now we meet each other and they seem to be recovering quickly. So now we have hope that some of the injured girls first will be ready for the game tomorrow, says Nielsen.

However, not all sick players will be ready to start.

I know we will start with eleven players but I don’t know how many players we can replace to be honest. They couldn’t train. We will practice and see how they feel afterwards. But I know there are at least three players who are not healthy enough to train today, so of course they won’t start tomorrow.

“Even a Few of My Favorites”

Nielsen retains Sweden as a top candidate in the match.

– Before the tournament, Sweden was probably a candidate with 90% and is now a favorite. But they haven’t won yet, he says.

If you think about it logically, we don’t have a chance but football doesn’t make sense. Football is football. When you’re on the field, every game lives its life, so of course we have a chance. It might not be that big but as long as we have a chance we will chase it down with all we can.
