The list of injuries is long – but Färjestad’s list of matches won is even longer
The eighth win in the last nine came after a 3-2 win over Brennas.
Färjestad has had significant injury problems most of the season, not least of late.
Against Brinas, big names such as Per Åslund, Victor Ejdsell, Linus Johansson and Henrik Björklund lost.
But despite the long absence list, Färjestad continues to rack up victories.
The reigning champions came to Gavle with seven wins in their last eight matches and points in all eight matches.
Now it was another victory. Färjestad won 3-2 after Theodor Linström scored the decisive goal with four minutes remaining.
Johan Larsson beat a real Indian in his own area. Former player Marcus Westphalt intercepted the ball and fired clear.
Another great goal for Westfält, who made his SHL debut as a 17-year-old with Brynäs.
Of course, you have a lot of friends and family there so it’s fun to score goals. An important goal too, he told C More.
Two goals from Blomqvist return
Brynäsback Johannes Kinnvall was not happy with the period:
– Very tight of us with a lot of solid play and square play, we can do a lot better. He says the whole game could be better.
Brynäs had some time in the area midway through the period, but it was Färjestad who scored the only goal.
An elegant attack as Färjestad rounded the Brynäs defense before Theodor Lennström made it 2-0.
– Incredibly nice pass by Joel (Nystrom) and yes, the whole game before, says Linstrom, who wasn’t particularly concerned that Brenas had too much of the game:
– We have them outside, where we want them. But we can be a little more on the offensive in the third district.
But a bounce slashed into my glass brought Brinas into the match. Jacob Blomqvist took advantage and pushed the cut just a few minutes into the third period.
And Bloomqvist isn’t over yet. Just a few minutes later, he scored the equalizer after a questionable tackle by Matt Tomkins. Brynäs was on his way to important points, but instead decided on Färjestad.
