If you’ve played hockey at Scaniarink, you’ve probably heard of Bosse Widlund. The club gave him a season ticket for life on the first floor of the arena and during the pandemic he was the only one allowed in. The 79-year-old is SSK’s biggest fan and hasn’t missed a home game since 1994.
– We had planned to go to Copenhagen in the summer of 1994 and then I missed the first show. It was October 2nd and we won 5-3 on Haninge and I was on board. There was a lot of work and then I decided that the next time I was going to miss a match she would be dead, he said.

– Then I had an epiphany, as I suppose when you meet God. I haven’t met God, but I can imagine it’s the exact same revelation. We were a little late and when we woke up you hear “Exhilarating sport, cheerful sport, cheerleading wand, cheery wand.” I was a kid of 10 and had just fallen, I went straight in. Become nationally known overnight

How do you feel about being a local celebrity?
– There is not much left of it, it disappears. That was true. Then I became a real celebrity and everyone was talking to me. I even had to say no because it was too much.

There is something else in the classic adage that is not answered. We know what Boss thinks of his first beer, it’s “very good.” But what does he really think of the second beer?
– There is no need. It just fills you up. I only drink one now, I probably drank two at the time. Now strong beer will do. The doctor says I’m not really supposed to drink alcohol at all, but it’s hard not to.
Not much beer anymore?
– It wasn’t that much back then either, but there’s a big difference now. Then I was 72 and now I’m 79.
