The charity match in Gavle was an emotional and wonderful tribute to the late Porgy Salming.

In total, the foundation has raised more than nine million kroner for ALS research.

– Today I am completely speechless. Silent about everything, says Pia Salming on Radio Burton.

The Salming Charity Game was held on Saturday in Gavle.

Three Kronor legends, among others Peter Forsberg, Niklas Lidstrom and Henrik Zetterberg on the team lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 in front of a sold out arena.

Nine million kronor

The match was, of course, only secondary in this context. Prior to relegation, a tearful ceremony was held for Boré Salming, which ended with his number 17 jersey being hoisted into the ceiling.

Most of all, more than nine million crowns were raised for Börje Salming’s ALS during the day.

– The last thing I heard about nine million, and the money keeps coming in. It’s absolutely fantastic, says Chairman Rikard Josefsson at Radiosporten.

“completely silent”

Pia Salming, Bureh’s wife, wept as the harpsichord climbed to the ceiling to the encouragement of John Henrik Felgren.

– It feels completely unreal. Today I am completely speechless. silent about everything. It says on Radiosporten it’s from the person who paid a ticket to get in here, their heart, their standing ovation for the players who lined up here today and the staff who work here.
