The ice has melted in Finland.

The encounter between Pelicans Lahti and Vitkovic Rydera was called off after just over ten minutes.

The reason is that the ice was not in playable condition.

The match was abandoned and the home team, the Pelicans, lost 0-3 after one round.

The first period did not have time to grow old. After just over ten minutes, the referees blew their whistle and sent both teams off the ice.

According to Iltalehti, the reason is that advertising under the ice caused a lot of trouble.

The ice simply did not have time to freeze, after the announcement for the CHL was placed under the ice.

The match was completely cancelled

The referees and other staff tried their best to patch the ice, but were unsuccessful.

According to the Finnish newspaper, the advertisement was removed in the hope of fixing the ice.

Initially, the announcement was made that the match would resume at exactly eight o’clock in the evening, Swedish time. But after a break that lasted more than an hour and a half, a new message came stating that the match had not ended.

Not only that, but the home team Lahti was handed a 0-3 loss after a playoff run.

In an email, CHL explains the decision.

“According to the rules of the Italian League, the match can be stopped for a maximum of 120 minutes. Since it was not possible to fix the game plan during that period, the match was suspended and Pelicans Lahti lost 0-3.

Vitkovic now leads the round of 16 with a score of 3-0 before the return match next week.
