With less than a second left, Kandri Miller grabbed a 1-1 tie for the New York Rangers – then Adam Fox sealed it just a minute into overtime.
“There wasn’t much to cheer about for 59 minutes, but I hope everyone stays because it was quite a sick ending,” says a smiling Mika Zibanejad to Sportbladet after the improbable win over Dallas.

– Yes, like I said, they didn’t have much to cheer about before that, I understand the fans. But then there was pressure and we got a real boost of energy before extra time, continues Mika.
I suddenly decided
– Extra time – he only managed to last 1 minute and 16 seconds. Then there was more pressure. Because then Adam Fox whipped the decision with an icy backhand – after Zibanejad’s preparatory work.
– There was no finesse, I was very tired and tried to fight. At first I thought I scored but the puck bounced, I tried to get it back as fast as I could and sat on my butt not really understanding where I was. Then I saw that Fox owned the disc, says the Swede.
– He did it well. For a while I thought he was waiting for me to get to the far post, but he did it himself. Incredibly cute, of course. What a crazy ending.
With the win, the Rangers moved into a tie with the New Jersey Devils for second place in the Metropolitan Standings. However, they did play two more matches.
