Henrik von Eckermann was a hit in front of the home crowd at Stockholm Stadium.
With Olympic gold horse King Edward, he finished second on the prestigious World Champions Tour – just eleven percent of the victory.
It’s almost perfect, says von Eckermann.
Henrik von Eckermann He was flawless and the fastest in all of the categories he competed in during the World Champions Tour at Stockholm Stadium.
But after three straight victories, it remained the most famous competition when the Grand Prix was scheduled to be decided on Saturday. Eckermann came out last out of all thirty-five contenders. By then, only five passengers had jumped flawlessly.
Eckermann was the sixth to jump after the flawless fourth straight run on the court. In the jump, German Christian Ahlmann was eleven hundred faster than the Swede and snatched the victory.
– You want to win, but the horse won two more classes and jumped incredibly. I didn’t get the first turn between one and two. Christian went on seven Canter jumps and I had eight Canter jumps, and that’s where I lost him. But the rest was really good and it felt great.
‘Cheers weren’t winning’
To the cheers of the audience, one would almost believe von Eckermann won, but that didn’t deceive the Swede.
– The audience is just as great in Sweden. The cheers were good, but they weren’t winning. I felt it, then looked up and saw that it was red on the board.
Second place awards von Eckermann 700,000 Swedish kronor. In total, the Swede won more than 1 million crowns in the first two days of competition.
– It was almost perfect. I’ve won three times and once twice, but it’s emotionally great. The horse feels alert and refreshed and that is the most important thing.
Did you top the World Cup too early?
– no I do not think so. He was in incredible shape the whole time. Unfortunate things happened, but the look was always good. Now we’ve sharpened things. I’m very happy the pieces are starting to snap into place.
“Incredibly good sport”
Malin Baryard and Peder Fredrickson It accounted for one impact each in the solo competition and didn’t make the leap to starting.
– We jumped several flawless rounds at the end and then got close to impact. Of course it’s sour. I wanted to be flawless and jump in here at home. Meanwhile, she’s done a lot of tough runs here, so you’ll probably feel good about not having to jump, says Baryard Johnson.
Big Brother Jens Fredrickson was one of the six who rode the walk flawlessly and had to compete more in the jump. However, there were two effects.
Neither the horse nor I are fast enough to keep up with that pace at the moment, says Fredrickson, who admired von Eckermann.
– It’s ridiculously good. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a good sport, an incredibly good sport. The atmosphere and feel of being in here beats even more after the pandemic.
