In an away game against the Arizona Coyotes, the Toronto Maple Leafs collapsed in the final period. Four goals allowed the Canadian team to drop a 3-2 lead to lose 3-6.
The Swedish success wasn’t helped by the power play.

But they gave Toronto a good starting position after the first period.
Firstly, it was Pontus Holmberg who equalized 1-1 when Shane Gustesferi was in the penalty area. He headed in a Connor Timmins shot and Pierre Engvall provided the second assist for the Swede’s goal.
Calle Järnkrok then gave Toronto the lead after just three minutes, with this goal also giving them a numerical advantage. Järnkrok, who now has three goals and three assists in his last four matches, scores 2-1 in goal caps.
In Buffalo, the Sabers hit the home run after two periods. Then it was 5-0 against the Detroit Red Wings, who, however, recovered and lost “only” 3-6.
Three Swedes scored points in the match. Everyone plays in Detroit. Elmer Soderblom, Oscar Sundqvist and Jonathan Berggren are noted for each assist.
Mika Zibanejad made it 1-0 for the New York Rangers away from Tampa Bay Lightning. The match was scoreless (1-1) and a penalty shootout had to decide. Tampa, led by Victor Hedman, won there after goals by Brayden Point and Alexander Killorn.
Swede Erik Gustafsson found the Washington Capitals scoring level. There was an assist last night, and it was 1-0 for Alexander Ovechkin.
This means the Swede has now scored five goals and five assists in his last six matches.
But there was no celebration. Washington lost to the Ottawa Senators after Alex DeBrinkat first tied the game at 3-3 and then scored to make it 4-3 in overtime.
Many NHL matches often mean many Swedes score points.
Against the New York Islanders, Emil Bemstrom pulled home for the third time this season. However, his goal came a little late, with 21 seconds remaining, and the Columbus Blue Jackets lost 1-2.
For the Dallas Stars, Nils Lundqvist had an assist in a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild. Calle Rosen was the leading scorer when the St. Louis Cardinals were the leading scorer. The Louis Blues beat the Chicago Blackhawks 3-1 at home.
Victor Arvidsson provided two assists as the Los Angeles Kings sealed a 5-4 penalty shootout victory against the Colorado Avalanche and Erik Carlson’s scoring success continued. The Swede had assists on #36 and #37 as his San Jose Sharks lost to the Philadelphia Flyers 3-4 in overtime. This means that Carlson has already scored 50 points after 37 games.
