The Toronto Swedes have dominated Pittsburgh in the NHL

Tonight’s NHL meeting between Toronto and Pittsburgh started in full swing with goals after 40 seconds. Pittsburgh’s Ricard Raquel nearly equalized before the Toronto Swedes took over the game, which ended 4-1.

– We’ve been outmatched, says Pittsburgh coach Mike Sullivan after the game.

40 seconds after being knocked down, Mitchell Marner made it 1-0 to Toronto.

Swede Ricard Raquel almost equalized for Pittsburgh in the second half, but the goal was disallowed. The judge’s decision was reviewed and suspended.

Less than two minutes later, Toronto’s Pontus Holmberg stepped up instead and made it 2-0 with an ankle shot from the hole. After another 55 seconds, teammate William Nylander extended the lead to 3-0, his 12th goal of the season.

Hungry for revenge, Raquel made it 3-1 in the third period, his ninth goal of the season.

There were no goals more than that for Pittsburgh. Toronto Swedish goalkeeper Erik Calgren saved 25 shots on goal.

“I think we play very confidently and very stable defensively,” Calgren says after the match.

Auston Matthews finished 4-1 to Toronto at the end of the third period.

In the meeting between New Jersey and Washington, Jack Hughes hit a home hat-trick. The match ended 5-1 against New Jersey, with Swedish Fabian Zetterlund scoring the last goal for the home team.

Thus, New Jersey head coach Lindy Roof has 800 career wins. The 62-year-old is the fifth coach in NHL history to achieve this feat.
