Slovenia shocked Canada and led after one period.
– It’s at least that good, says SVT expert Daniel Rodslatt.
Canada rallied, however, to go 5-2.
Up front, Canada was the big favorite in the match against Slovenia. They won, but they were under pressure from the start.
Barely four minutes into the game, Jan Droz made it 1-0 to Slovenia.
– It should be a wake-up call for Canada, says SVT expert Daniel Rodslatt.
This was not the case.
Honoring the expert
Slovenia continued to create many dangerous situations and could have gone into the second half with more than one goal.
– Not undeserved. If you zoom in, Slovenia is at least as good as Canada and has created more dangerous situations, Rudslat says.
Immediately in other cases, the system will be restored. Michael Courcon equalized, and about halfway through the match Pierre-Olivier Joseph completed the transformation.
Canada eventually won 5-2 to top their group. Tomorrow they face Slovakia.
The United States also initially had problems against Hungary, who took the lead after four minutes. Before the end of the first period, the Americans converted, but even so, Hungary was praised for its efforts.
– It’s impossible not to love this Hungarian team. It’s a great stand they come up with, says expert Jonas Anderson.
The match ended 7-1. In doing so, the United States leads Sweden’s group, with one match more than the other teams. Next up for the Americans is Germany on Monday afternoon.
