Therese Johaug talks about her new life: “I was like a student”

As an elite skater, there is no time for parties and alcohol.

As a retired skier, Therese Johaug made sure to catch up on all the missed parties during the summer.

– She replaced the sports drink with a pink wine, she told VG.

Norwegian Ski Queen Therese Juhaug She announced in March that she would be ending her career. It is now possible to spend the days you normally spend training in a different way. Over the summer, the 34-year-old made sure to live the party life that she wasn’t able to do during her youth.

On Instagram, she can be seen on holidays all over Europe, including the girl’s trip to the festive island of Ibiza.

– I’ve lived a student life. It’s 18-year-old Therese who has been to Ibiza, France three times and is just living her life. I’ve replaced the sports drink with pink wine if you say so. I told VG I had a new life.

Rose wine and lamb don’t work.

The contrast is clear. While Johaug loses herself, her former campmates are dedicating their days to hour-long training sessions.

– It’s ownership. She lived like a skater, and she didn’t have to live that life in any way. She wants to start a family and now has the opportunity to spend the holiday as she wants, says national team figure skater Lotta Udnes Weng.

In the past, Johog trained over 1,000 hours a year, and the fact that she left that life behind is no regrets. In the future, there are plans to start a family with fiancé Niels Jacob Hof – but not yet.

It does not work to combine rose wine with lamb. I live life now. Gohog says I prioritize that first, then we will take the other one in a year or two.
