Bern. Pin me in the PostFinance arena.
The main arena in Bern, which houses the largest hockey platform in the world.
– Great pressure, says Bern goalkeeper Adam Redburn.
There are many classic hockey arenas in Europe.
Hartwall Square has its charm.
As well as the court in Stockholm.
Or Pista la Valascia in Ambri with the card sides open.
Bern also has a unique hockey arena in the Swiss capital.
Standing space along the entire upper floor
The Eisstadion Allmend and Bern Arena, as the arena was formerly called, was built in 1967 and is now called the PostFinance Arena. It has always been the biggest stadium in Switzerland and the fans in Bern are very proud of that.
The unique thing about the arena is that you have huge standing room for the entire upper floor on the long side. Many arenas choose to reserve standing spots on the short sides or in the corners – and Bern has focused on the fans and reserved the best seats for those who create the life, sound and movement.

– Great print, almost always full standing. When you’re not in the lineup, you think a little and look at the fans. Adam Redburn, Bern’s Swedish goalkeeper, says it’s a bit like the Hovit Stadium, which is an old stadium.
“10,000 standing rooms”
SC Bern is also a club that lives on its fans when it comes to finances. A standing room ticket costs 360 kroner, 30 Swiss francs, and seating tickets are much more expensive, at 1,500 kroner, 125 Swiss francs.
On average, 12,000 beers are sold at a home match, 2,000 perezipfel, a special Bern sausage, 1,800 hamburgers and 700 regular hot dogs. A beer costs 6 Swiss francs and beer sales alone bring in 864,000 kroner in total.
It gives the club a very good income and an advantage over many other clubs in Switzerland.
– The fans are great, 10 thousand in the standing room and from restaurants and the audience the club receives income. “There are also a lot of demands and eyes on us,” says Mikael Håkansson, assistant coach at Bern.
