Thomas Lagerlöf before meeting with Molde
Djurgorden overcomes a defect in front of the leaders of the Norwegian league, Molde.
Then coach Thomas Lagerlöf hopes the team can stop 19-year-old Molde star Datro Fofana and that Djurgården continue his impressive form at home.
– We can defeat all the teams in the group, he says.
Molde leads the Norwegian league by a large margin and is ten points behind second-placed Lillstrom after 22 rounds. In front of Djurgården on Tele2, the squad comes out full of self-confidence and that means the Allsvenskan league runners-up overcame a flaw in tonight’s meeting in Europa Conference League.
Molde is a great football team and in good shape. They have many skilled players individually. But they are incredibly good at their overall defensive game mentioning little AIK under Ricard Norling and how strong they were in their defensive game at the time.
– But we have identified two things that we think mean that we should be able to threaten them. The coach says it is a very good football team, among the best teams we have met this year Thomas Lagerlöf.
The Djurgård coach also believes the team hopes to benefit from the match played on Tele2.
– We’ve been incredibly strong here at home and we know we can beat all the teams in the group. No team is impossible to beat, he says.
The clips must be shown to the players.
The key is to stop Ivorian star David Datro Fofana. The 19-year-old striker scored goals and appeared in both the League and the European Championship.
– We’ll show the guys clips of it, but we also talked about it a little loosely. It clearly stands out. He’s pretty much a complete striker, says Lagerlöf.
