Mercedes has made progress in Spain and expects to be even more advanced at the Monaco GP in F1 2022.

Before competing in Spain, Toto Wolff wanted to get an answer from his Mercedes and saw George Russell fall back to the top, until he finished third and Lewis Hamilton moved from 19th to 5th.
Hamilton, who wanted to stop his car during the start of the race, was so happy afterwards that he started talking about victories again.
His team manager Toto Wolff also witnessed the progress.

We take it step by step and it takes a lot of work to be part of the fight for victories. But it is becoming increasingly clear to us what we need to do in order for the car to work.
Mercedes will bring more updates to the Monaco GP in F1 2022, but more teams are optimistic. Andreas Seidl of McLaren talks about the team’s progress when driving at slower speeds and AlphaTauri has a special plan:
– We invest everything in qualifying, says Pierre Gasly.
It doesn’t matter if you’re five or six tenths slower in the race.
This tactic worked well last year. Gasly started sixth and finished sixth, but let’s guess his team isn’t alone in testing this tactic.
Incidentally, Red Bull has found the problem around DRS for Max Verstappen and is expecting a solution.
2022 F1 Monaco GP race schedule
We are used to a free Friday in Monaco, but time is up. Now it’s a traditional weekend, with practice on Friday, practice and qualifying on Saturday and the race on Sunday.

No rest, no peace. After the Spanish Grand Prix we go straight to Monaco GP in F1 2022 and it’s time for the shortest track, 3.3 kilometres, which usually doesn’t provide much overtaking or any racing party.
But after nominating the three strongest rubber compounds in Barcelona, Pirelli now selects the three softest rubber compounds to compete in Monaco. Since the track is open to normal traffic during the evening, the asphalt is often very slippery and there is minimal tire wear, while the track is developing all the time. In Monaco there is often a stop in force, but it is important that it is well timed.
The track is often described as one of the most unpredictable of the season, but the truth is that qualifying has a crucial role to play, says Mario Isola, director of motorsports at Pirelli.
– We may see some drivers opting for solid tires while driving indoors for long driving at first, while others may opt for a more traditional strategy. Dr. Racing’s strategy can make all the difference.
