Timothy Liljegren has arrived at Tre Kronor

TAMMERFORS. Toronto defender Timothy Lillegren has arrived in the city of the World Cup and Three Kronor.

He is expected to actually play his first match against Hungary tomorrow.

– He has developed greatly at the Marlies and Maple Leafs, praised General Manager Joseph Boumedienne.

Tre Kronor is starting to get a full lineup with Timothy Liljegren accepted into the national team.

He flew via Copenhagen to Tampere on Wednesday afternoon and landed at 16:15 at the small airport about a mile outside the city centre.

At five in the evening he arrived in a minibus at the Rosendahl player’s hotel.

Met directly with team management and was quickly checked in.

Tre Kronor general manager Joseph Boumediene, who works every day for the Columbus organization, has a good grasp of the hill.

– He’d be great with Timothy and we’ve been keeping an eye on him ever since at Rögle and in Toronto. It’s been fascinating to watch his evolution from being an offensive opportunity that takes back hard on power play to being traded at linebacker with a solid two-way play, good first pass and good defensive end. He’s good all over the ice, praises for Boumediene.

Tre Kronor heats up early Thursday morning and Timothy is expected to be brought up immediately, in part because Tre Kronor currently only has six roster appearances.

– It is also up to Sam and Timothy if there will be a live match and who will play together. I definitely think he and Rasmus Sanden, who have played together before, will get a chance at some point during WC. I think it’s a good idea to get into the restroom quickly. But it was a long journey and a seven hour time difference. Boumediene concludes with a little malaise.
