Marcus Silfgaard injured

Växjö lost for the first time at home to Timrå in ten years.

Additionally, the long injury list got even longer when Marcus Silfgaard left the ice.

– It’s easy to train at the moment, there’s not much to choose from, says coach Jurgen Johnson on TV4 Play.

Växjö came into the home game against Timrå with five forwards on the injured list and was unable to line up for the full four series.

Then I got off to a rocky start – in more ways than one.

Got the puck in hand

Timrå took the lead through Per Svensson six minutes later. In addition, Växjö’s star striker Marcus Silvgaard injured himself when he received a hard pass from his hand – and in the second half he was not seen. Since then, striker quintet Ludwig Nilsson, Martin Lundberg, Dylan McLaughlin, Hugo Gustafsson and Tobias Rieder have been sidelined.

However, in terms of play, things went well in the second half for the home team, who turned the tables with Robert Rosen’s goals and Gabriel Karlsson’s first goal in a Växjö shirt.

“Capricciosa on the bus”

But the lead was not able to hold as Panu Mihu made sure to equalize early in the third period – taking the game to extra time.

Timrå was the strongest there.

When Kale Kosila received the first sending off of the match, Ilmire Ironen was able to send in a 3-2 power-play goal, securing Timrå’s first win in Växjö since 2013.

– The bus will be a whim now and maybe check how it goes on the trot, says Timrå’s victorious coach Anders Karlsson to TV4 Play.
