Tommy Anderson and Caroline Waldheim could become SvFF co-chairs

Here are two more people vying for the presidency of the Swedish Football Association.

It concerns Tommy Andersson, president of the Blekinge Football Association and project manager Caroline Waldheim at the Swedish Football Association, who have been nominated by the Norrland region.

– Caroline did a very good job on the association, and Tommy did very well on the non-profit side, says Torni Roeden, Jämtland-Haaredalen District President.

Karl-Erik Nilsson will step down as president of the Swedish Football Association because he cannot serve more than next year. Sportbladet revealed early on that current national team manager Jens T. Anderson is a strong candidate for the job. Subsequently, both Fotbollskanalen and SportExpressen wrote that former Prime Minister Friedrich Reinfeldt could also become the new president, and the selection committee later came up with four candidates who would settle for the presidency. It was about Berger Johnson, nominated by FF Annika Grälls from Västmanland, nominated by FF from Södermanland, Jens T Andersson nominated by BK Häcken and then Fredrik Reinfeldt, nominated by BP.

Now Sportbladet can reveal two more names entering the fray. It’s about Tommy Andersson, President of the Football Association at Blekinge and Project Manager for Caroline Waldheim at the Swedish Football Association. Both were nominated by Norrlandsdistrikt and had meetings on the subject at a conference two weeks ago.

Torgny Rhödin, president of Jämtland-Härjedalens FF, confirmed that they had nominated both Waldheim and Andersson.

– This is correct. There are seven of us who met during a number of meetings across teams and discussed some names that we trust the most and came up with two names. We felt one name wasn’t enough, so we nominated two for the selection committee.

– Tommy has been doing really well on the non-profit side and has worked extremely hard, and we trust him very much. Same with Caroline, who has made many very good contributions to the Society, he says.

Candidates will now be subject to an eligibility check, but both are therefore expected to be part of the group of six who are now settling on the position as the Swedish Football Association’s new president.
