Activists suspended the Tour de France for ten minutes.
With 36 kilometers left on the road, police had to turn away several people who were chained on the road.
It has become a trend with environmental activists entering sporting events and locking themselves in goal points, tennis nets, or other objects.
On Tuesday, the same thing happened in the 10th stage of the Tour de France.
“We have to take over”
With 36 kilometers remaining from the 10th stage, the runners’ activists have stuck the words “We have 989 days left” on their T-shirts.
“Since the government doesn’t care about the climate crisis, we must come in and take over the Tour de France to refocus attention on what is important to our survival.”writes about the activist movement Derniere Renovation in a statement.
“We must make our government respond when they lead us to the slaughterhouse.”

The activists were tied together, but the stage could go on when the police carry them away with the help of Tour de France general manager Yann Le Moenner.
The contestants then did the course with the same time margin as before and the stage was won by Magnus Kurt Nielsen.
