Todd Woodcroft has been fired as head coach of the University of Vermont.

The 50-year-old Canadian is mainly known in Sweden as a former assistant coach at Tre Kronor and Juniorkronorna.

“Investigations revealed inappropriate text messages with a student on several occasions,” the American University wrote in a press release.

After three seasons as the head coach of the University of Vermont in the NCAA College League, Todd Woodcroft was forced to leave his position.

According to the university, it has to do with inappropriate contact with a student.

“We have high demands on the behavior of our coaches. The investigation clearly showed that Todd Woodcroft did not live up to those expectations. The investigation was prompted by inappropriate texting with a student on several occasions, and the school’s chair of athletics, Jeff Shulman, said. They keep a professional distance.”

Todd Woodcroft’s attorney, Andrew Miltenberg, announced that they would take legal action following the dismissal.
