Football party or football year.
How Swedish football’s achievements will be recognized and where you can follow the award ceremony is currently unclear.
According to Sportbladet information, several TV companies are currently refusing to broadcast the event.
Planning is in full swing. But Helena Top Renmark, director of marketing for the Swedish Football Association, does not want to reveal how the Swedish football offerings will play out in 2022.
– But we can promise that we will pay tribute to our football champions and all the great efforts in the football movement throughout the year. We’re multiple parties and need to sync a little more before we can connect anything, she tells Sportbladet.
Whether it will be in the form of a football party or a continuation of the resolution of the digital pandemic, the year of football, remains to be seen.
Four companies said no
In recent years, TV4 has broadcast the Football Association Awards, where the Golden Ball and the Diamond Ball were awarded. But after last year the agreement expired.
– As at the moment, we will not be broadcasting the football party, says TV4 press officer Ludvig Ternstedt.
Earlier, the football channel reported that both TV4 and Viaplay “He said no/was hesitant” on Swedish Football Association Honor Radio. According to Sportbladet information, the SVT and Discovery Plus are also down at the moment.
“We do not comment on rights about programs that we do not broadcast.”writes Discovery Plus in an email.
“Viaplay has never had this type of operation, and as far as we know, no decisions have been made.”writes Viaplay.
Helena Taube Rehnmark does not want to comment on Sportbladet information.
– I don’t comment on anything yet. We are currently in dialogue with TV companies. Therefore, we will communicate when everything is ready, she says.
Then it should be tribute
Although a lot is uncertain about the annual honor, one thing is clear. It will take place as usual at the end of the year.
For example, the last goal must have been scored in order to award a goal to this year’s goal, says Helena Taub Renmark.
Viaplay now has the rights to the Swedish men’s national team matches in the EC and WC qualifiers as well as the Nations League. From 2025, the television company will also broadcast EC and WC women’s national team qualifiers as well as training matches.
