The Spanish Super Cup, the Supercopa de España, is one of the most prestigious super cups in European football. Something that was seen in the recent Spanish battles over the years, which more or less displayed drama, dream goals, and controversies.
Since 2019, the finals have been played in a “final four format” with the semi-finals followed by the final, with the top two teams joining the Copa del Rey final.

This year, Sportbladet, which previously broadcast the Copa del Rey, will broadcast the entire Supercup for those with a plus subscription.
The Spanish Super Cup has something very special and it is a tournament very close to my heart. Real Madrid’s miraculous conversion against Valencia in 2008 and Barcelona’s victory in El Clásico in 2011, with three red cards in the final, are two defining Super Cup events that are still particularly memorable. In this year’s edition, Real Madrid will face Valencia and Real Betis will face Barcelona in the semi-finals that will take place on Wednesday and Thursday (January 11-12). The semi-final winners will meet in the final on Sunday, January 15th. All matches are broadcast live on Sportbladet Plus.
The tournament, in which Barcelona holds the most champions in all time with 13 titles, will be played this year in Saudi Arabia and Riyadh.
