When the Golden Knights returned from Edmonton on Thursday afternoon, he headed straight from the airport to BB’s in Vegas, where his wife, Emily, gave birth to the couple’s first child at 2:30 a.m. Then it was just a matter of reloading the fifth round of the incredibly intense quarterfinal series against the Oilers.
– Yes, it was a unique 24 hours. But it was just too perfect timing, two games in between, Wild Bill says with a grin as we meet him in the Knights’ dressing room after what turned out to be an exhilarating 4-3 victory.
– I wasn’t sure I’d dare to come and watch, but I’m proud of myself for doing it anyway, heh. What is the experience. What women have to go through, it’s just incredible.

– Yes, everything is alright.

– Yes. It’s nice to have an American wife so you can have names like that, huh?
Did you manage to sleep before this match?
– Well, it was only a few hours in the hospital. Then I took a big nap during the afternoon. But I still felt flattered when I got to the hall and I was actually pretty limber in my legs.
Yes, show. William was among the best in what was, for once, a truly even match between bitter Pacific opponents and contributed, among other things, an impressive powerplay assist.
The Oilers were killer again once the Knights picked up the pitchers, scoring at least three power play goals, but five of five were the home team on drive. That’s why they finally won 4-3 – and gained a 3-2 advantage in the series.
– Yes, this victory should be taken as a “cherry in the top,” continues Beckham’s father Carlson.

The Swede returned to the ice after the injury
Swedish Oilers defender Matthias Ekholm appeared to have injured himself when at the end of the second half he made an ugly tackle that resulted in a game-winning Keegan Kolesar penalty, but the Diamonds were more than able to return to the ice in the third period.
The next game in the series is set in Edmonton on Monday night.
