On Sunday, little brother Taha Ayari, 17, jumped to the 84th minute against Jeff Sundsvall when he replaced his 18-year-old brother. Taha thanked Ayari for trusting Sebastian Larsson’s penalty correction to make the final score 4-0.
– I wasn’t really nervous, it was mostly fun. Ayari says it is a sick feeling to see the fans when you enter.

How important is it to show that AIK can sell players for huge sums even though they are rarely regular A-team players?
– It starts with the fact that there is a lot of quality in the academy. Then there’s the bridge from the Academy to Team A. You should be able to fail and also get another chance. It’s rare for young players who don’t make mistakes and so they should get more playing time. The sales we made are not only now when we sold (Ammar Abdel Rahman Ahmed) to Troyes. Might be ten years late, it’s an echo that continues to live on for young players when they choose to come to AIK.
How hard is it to trade off playing young players versus having to win the gold medal and finish in the top three?
– What you have to do is rank the young players. Not everyone is in the same place in their development. You have to give them time to practice things so that they are ready for their seniors. You can’t put all the players in the same room, but you can see how far they progress individually.
