Young swimmers at camp were weighed

During a training weekend arranged for Swedish swimmers, active subjects were weighed during a fitness test.

Some of them were minors and were severely criticized.

In September of last year, swimmers were weighed with a fitness test during Elite Weekend. This was never announced to the jump coaches and now they have reacted and reported to the Swedish Swimming Federation.

– There were active people who were weighed as minors without informing parents. I did not feel satisfied. This is with weight very sensitive in swimming, especially in adolescence, says the captain who wishes to remain anonymous to SVT.

They have been in contact with one of the swimmers who has been weighed. The chicken has never been weighed in relation to a fitness test.

– He was in the gym. In the middle of the runway there was a wave and then we warm up next to it. Then he called out the names one by one, the person says.

The swimmer faced the situation as difficult and wanted to be asked if it was okay. Some active people didn’t want it, but felt compelled when it was included in the test.

Elite Weekend is for both the Activists and the coaches, but in this case the club team coaches were in another room for part of their education. Former swimmer Anna Lindbergh was at this time responsible for Elite Training and commented on it all for SVT:

– On my initiative, we ran fitness tests and used a fitness profile developed for swimming. Weight was part of an entire fitness profile. If you don’t have that moment, it won’t be a complete test result, she says and claims:
